July 07, 2007: Illusions | Very cool 3D Animated GIF illusions.

I was recently browsing for some interesting illusions when I ran into these animated 3D gifs.  I beleive they were discovered by Luciano Passuello--please correct me if I'm wrong.  These illusions do not require any special glasses, etc.

Hi Deeba. The illusion is based on two images. One being, the original, and the other which is altered. The 2nd image is altered so the background and the forground a slightly moved... When the two images are cycled back and forth, it gives the background a depth of field.

@Stx I would imagine you could very easily. Just get two cameras, point them at the exact same point, just next to each other. Take two pictures, at the same time, and put them in a GIF animator. Try playing with the space between the cameras.
