The Global Peace Index released the results of the analysis into each nation's peace.  Canada is 8th ranked nation in the world.  These results are based on specific metrics which are explained on the website.

For Canada Day celebrations, we ran up the Maple Leaf and watched the late night fireworks in Campbell River and on Quadra Island. I was especially touched a few days later when the camp hostess came by and wished me a happy Fourth of July. Another lady we met there came over and gave us both a hug, wishing us the same.
